Plot: Pasqualino is just an Italian man trying to get by - but after deserting the army during WWII, he finds himself in a German prison camp, where he will do anything to get by. Looking back on his life, we see him living with his seven sisters, the accidental murder of one of their suitors - his trial, getting sent to an asylum, raping a patient, volunteering for the army to escape the asylum - all leading to his German camp.
