One of the best scorsese films in existence. Criminally underrated in my opinion. De niro carries the whole thing on his back and Jerry lewis's performance is also worthy of praise. I can see how todd philip was probably inspired by this while making THE JOKER. "RATHER BE KING FOR A NIGHT, THAN SCHMUCK FOR A LIFE".

With Robert DeNiro's larger than life performance, it's a Martin Scorsese classic not seen for what it was when first put in theaters.

A blackest of the black comedy and fascinating study of obsession. It takes a while to get going, but De Niro is magnificent as you'd expect and Jerry Lewis is a revelation. A powerful and funny commentary on the power of the media and "cult of personality".

Scorsese moves away from the epic plots with this film to present a claustrophobic and neurotic black comedy that features fantastic performances from both De Niro and Jerry Lewis (playing a darker character that he has in the past.) It's a film not only about the nature of fame, but also the nature of comedy.

An under-rated film, this is probably one of Scorsese's most entertaining movies, and one of De Niro's best performances.

One of the best Boby's performances. I find this movie underrated for that simple matter. Is not Scorsese's best, is not a marvelous film, but it's weird, and also well constructed, wich makes it unique. You'll love it specially if you're a Robert DeNiro fan.
