Would have worked better as a series rather than a film as everything felt very rushed with little in the way of character development. While the cast was pretty good - it felt like a disservice to the novel. It's the same way I felt about how they treated The Dark Tower - too much crammed into too little with disappointing results.

Reviving classical vampire tropes the same way the book did, this "Salem's Lot" has enough frightening scenes and creative camerawork to compensate for the shortness of depth.
