I didn't know a film could be like 12 different genres at once and still work but S.S. Rajamouli - along with two excellently charasmatic leads in N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan - just gives you this grand spectacle that, yes, can be a bit over-the-top with just a bit of cheese - but still deliver. From tiger fights to fighting WITH tigers, bromance, romance, political drama, family drama, hidden agendas, a big dance number and so much more - I can't say I've experienced anything quite like RRR, but it was worth every minute.

Very long and corny, and sometimes it gets a bit boring. Also, there is a romantic subplot I didn't care for, and the villains are cartoons. Other than that, this was a wild experience that I won't forget. One of the rawest and most over-the-top action scenes I've seen in a while! In the opening scene, a dedicated police officer tries to arrest a protester among the crowd of other angry protesters. After that scene, I was fully ready for everything else. You know, last year had a lot of lackluster blockbusters, but this movie delivers where those fail. It has everything, lol.

I usually hate overblown action movies (see: every superhero movie made in the last 20 years), but I love RRR. The action sequences are kept to a minimum, but they're spectacular. Unlike American action movies, these action sequences don't comprise a million blink-and-you'll-miss-them shots. Instead, many of the shots are long and often even slowed down so viewers can actually follow the action and appreciate the audacious choreography. But this film is much more than its action sequences. There's actually a plot and character development between the action. This movie has it all: bromance, romance, thrills, laughs, singing and dancing, and more. It's gloriously over the top, and the best movie I've seen in quite a while.
