Fans of horror films should love The Blackening as it does a great job of being a fun, self-aware film reminiscent of Cabin in the Woods or the Scream franchise. It does a great job of referencing several horror films, while also borrowing elements from horror films like Saw and The Strangers while poking fun at horror in general. It's smart and highly entertaining.

A point-and-laugh farce of slasher films and racial stereotypes, "The Blackening" is a self-aware meta-movie in the vein of "Scream" and "Cabin in the Woods."
