Engaging remake of the 1934 Shirley Temple classic, though the cast is everywhere: Tony Curtis is over-the-top as the heavy, Walter Matthau is delightful, Sara Stimson is cute but thankless and Julie Andrews is miscast (the role needed someone with a lighter touch and less stature, like Carol Burnett). Final Grade: C+
