The famed detective gets a setting update from Victorian England to Washington D.C. amidst World War 2. It's kind of interesting to see Sherlock Holmes in a 1940s spy-thriller. The plot might be too complicated even for a SH movie. But it has a good villain and Basil Rathbone is in fine form as Holmes.
