While Riz Ahmed is just as convincing playing an ill rapper as he is at playing a deaf drummer, "Mogul Mowgli" doesn't have the emotionally powerful narrative of "Sound of Metal" and the visions and dream sequences it uses to flesh out its greater themes feel like they're in the wrong type of movie.
