Another week, another light update to the ratings rank. At least this week there is one wide release we can celebrate - otherwise, once again, it's pretty slim pickings. A few limited release films and a few that probably won't even see the inside of a theater. One of these weeks I'm going to get my wish and be inundated with like 10 films to add to the list, but I guess for now I'll take what I can get and keep hoping for better results.
The only film on the ratings list seeing a wide release is the crime/thriller Triple 9. Corrupt cops, the mob, a rookie who foils the plan by not dying - double-crosses, greed and action - sounds all kind of interesting. The cast looks great as well - Chiwetel Ejiofor, Woody Harrelson, Kate Winslet, Norman Reedus, Gal Gadot, Casey Affleck, Anthony Mackie, Teresa Palmer and Aaron Paul make for a pretty impressive lineup. With those kind of names attached, I'm expecting a bit more than your standard heist movie. Now, the fact it's coming out at the tail-end of February is a bit concerning (as that is usually the dumping ground for more troubled films) but I'm hoping this is the exception to the rule and we get a decent film. We'll see what comes of it, but I'm interested. Triple 9 get an R for strong violence and language throughout, drug use and some nudity.
Well, hopefully that was enough as the rest of the lineup is below:
BURNING BODHI
Rated R for drug use, language and some sexual references.
BUSCO NOVIO PARA MI MUJER

CODE OF HONOR
