Well, those hoping for a rip-roaring update packed with big, new films are in for a treat... in some other week. I guess today is the famine and another week will be the feast. There is just a single wide-release film getting its ratings due this week - a late-season horror film that is once again using social media as its main focus. Otherwise, it's slim pickings for you gentle folk. Once again, let's hope the future results in greener pastures and more damn ratings.
So, our one an only big-name picture this week is yet another horror film that uses social media as its outlet. And why not, isn't social media scary enough already? Anyways, now we get Friend Request in which a college girl decides to unfriend a mysterious girl only to find her real friends dying one by one as a demonic entity makes it apparent she wants her alone - and all to herself. The main characters is played by Alycia Debnam-Carey, current star in Fear the Walking Dead and The 100. It also stars William Moseley, Connor Paolo, Brit Morgan, Brooke Markham, Sean Marquette and Liesl Ahlers, most of whom are probably going to die horribly (if they're not the demon in question). And, hey, it's been a pretty good year for horror so even though this is coming in the bitter month of November, it has a chance. Granted, it doesn't exactly inspire any excitement in me but it might find a better audience.
