Thunderbolts* (2025)

Thunderbolts is funny, action packed and fun

“Thunderbolts”is a big step up from the mediocre last Captain America movie from earlier this year, and definitely one of the more entertaining Marvel movies. Mixing excellent character development, funny humor, solid action scenes and some moving drama, it moves fast and feels like one of the Avenger movies, since it involves a group of superheroes working together, even if these are lessor known and are mostly misfits. Acting is excellent, with both Florence Pugh and David Harbor trying to steal the movie from each other as father and daughter. Some of the psychological scenes delving into the past of the various characters gets a bit rough for a Marvel movie and pushes things towards Rated R territory, even though the movie is only rated PG-13, so be warned. Action in the movie is mostly hand to hand combat, so the movie does lack the epic scope of some of its predecessors. Stick around for the secret scenes, both are worth the wait.
