More grim and somber than other Bronson star vehicle, the underlying nihilism is pervasive through the final shots of the movie. Pun intended. However there are some decent fights and one good car chase right at the beginning of the story. Jill Ireland is given the chance to play an atypical leading lady for this type of film.
