HBO's Emmy-award winning mini-series is told here in a 7-part miniseries that's based on the hugely successful book by David McCullough. Part 1 follows his defense of the British soldiers in the Boston Massacre, Part 2 follows Adams to the Continental Congress as he urges the colonies to fight for independence, Part 3 follows him around Europe as he negotiates help and treaties, Part 4 sees his return and placement into the new country's political system. Part 5 is his vice-presidency, 6 his presidency, and 7 his later years as he patches up a relationship with Thomas Jefferson.
Beautifully shot and great casting, especially Giamatti and Linney as the Adams. If you watch on DVD I recommend watching with the historical feature on, which provides information via pop-ups. It's a great way to learn a little more history, but also a good way to keep all the characters straight.
