I really liked Damian McCarthy's Oddity and Hokum is another great horror entry from the director. Adam Scott plays a writer struggling with his past and this leads him to a rustic, Irish Inn to scatter his parent's ashes. The atmosphere is excellent, the cinematography is exceptional and it manages to be a great murder mystery and a folklore horror at the same time. It is a slow burn type film, however, so those wanting a more action-forward horror might find it more boring but I find my favorite horror these days tends to favor tension over blood.
