A dark and humourous critique of Capitalism: humanity itself figures as a meatpie to be consumed.
The setting is a 19th century London shrouded in the filth and darkness of its factories, but the ideology of Todd is contemporary: there are only two kinds of people in the whole human race -- one kind stays in its "proper place," the other has its foot on our throats.
As one watches the film, a subversive re-evaluation of Pirates emerges. "Take all you can! Give nothing back!" ARRRR!
