Gregory Peck plays an unpopular army officer leading a group of misfit soldiers to hold a fort under attack by Apache warriors. Much of the suspense comes from the friction among the soldiers and not the looming threat of attack. Interesting spin on the 'besieged by hostiles' narrative.
