As the final film of James Van Der Beek, it is a solid thriller with a trio of black friends (Mason Gooding, Algee Smith and Keith Powers) taking the worst shortcut ever and winding up at an (almost exclusively) rich, white gated community - one that revolves around a pastor who they witness attacking and then seemingly kill a woman. On the run, of course they get little in the way of help and while the film is a bit heavy-handed in the discrimination, I suppose it's not too far off the mark if a bit over-the-top. It benefits from the casting, as the leads are all great. The end is a bit abrupt but otherwise, enjoyable.
